Curated Syllabus + Best Online Learning Experience
Learning data science without working on real-world projects makes no sense. At Plumlogixu, you’ll complete at least 2 major capstone projects worthy of your portfolio as a data scientist. Besides, you’ll work on and complete small projects that reinforce specific technical aspects learned throughout the Bootcamp. These are projects you can show to your future employers soon after graduation.
These real-world projects will require you to identify a client’s business problem, use machine learning to give predictions, work on data and provide real-world business impact through data storytelling.
What you'll learn in this data science bootcamp
The Plumlogixu’s Data Science bootcamp syllabus is split into a number of topics and specializations that takes into account individual career goals and aspirations. Some of the topics to be covered include:
No programming language has taken over the data science profession like Python. This unit will introduce you to python, teach you best coding practices and usher you into the powerful Python-based ecosystem of tools.
You’ll learn python and its libraries, how to write clear, readable code in python using PEP8 standard, and how to build visualizations with Seaborn and Matplotlib.
Data wrangling involves acquiring new raw data, cleaning it, and transforming it into a format amenable for data analysis. As a data scientist, you’ll be doing a lot of data wrangling which involve also using semi-automated tools. This unit introduces you to the most common data wrangling tools and workflows in python that simplifies the rather complicated data wrangling process.
There’s no data science without statistics. Inferential statistics is all about data trends and characteristics of data sets. The techniques deployed in statistical inferencing allow a data scientist to explore and tell a good story out of a data set and helps with facilitating predictive modeling and deeper analysis.
You’ll be exposed to:
- Mastering the basics of inferential statistics and parameter estimation
- Building A/B split tests
- Conducting exploratory data analysis
- Learning correlation and regression to identify useful features in data sets
- Using hypothesis testing to determine statistical significance
Machine learning helps data scientists extract useful insights from data by combining aspects of computer science and statistics. To make useful predictions, recommendations or automatically find categories and groups within given complex data sets, data scientists must make use of Machine Learning. This unit exposes you to the major machine learning algorithms.
As a data scientist, your job also includes telling a good story out your data to clients- internal or external, who want to make sense of the data analysis results.
This unit allows you to put to practice the concepts you’ve learned to create a story of a given data set. You’ll be needed to come up with intriguing questions to interrogate your data set and reveal the insights using plotting techniques that support your story.
The ability to write clean code or contribute to codes that help translate prototypes into production is a skill that data scientists must have. This unit will introduce you to software engineering where you’ll learn how to write better code, testing and debugging and how to work closely with production teams and systems.
This unit provides a broad look at Data science and introduces you to working with popular algorithms for large-scale data manipulation like MapReduce, understand NoSQL, Spark, SparkML, and MLlib useful for implementing Machine Learning at scale on Spark.
Lastly, in this advanced machine learning session, you’ll cover topics such as fundamentals of Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), recommendation systems, time-serial analysis, and social network analysis.
Unlimited 1:1 coaching means you get the best guidance you need to land the best data science job
Besides our expertly-curated, job-focused course syllabus- you get to enjoy unlimited personal calls with your mentor who will help you win your perfect dream job. Our mentors will offer their unsolicited guidance for more than 5 months post-graduation.
Career coaching helps you build a unique yet successful job search strategy, build and grow your data science network, build a data science resume including a LinkedIn profile, and more.
Your mentor will train you on how to ace the job interview, negotiate your salary and find the job titles and companies.
Prepping was perfect!
